Rachel Dratch and Amy Poehler, Saturday Night Live
With few exceptions, New England's SNL connection hasn't compared to that of improv incubators like Chicago. Once you get past Jane Curtin and Adam Sandler, the list of New Englanders thins out fast. That all changed when Denise "Zazu" McDonough (aka Lexington's Rachel Dratch) first made out with former SNL cast member Jimmy Fallon in the bleachers of Fenway. Burlington's Amy Poehler, the second performer ever to be promoted to repertory player during her first season, added a second Boston accent. Now Dratch (the longest-tenured female cast member in the show's history) made be moving on to a sitcom, and Poehler can't be far behind. But for Boston, their success has been, how do you say? Wicked pissah!
